PawViral Editorial Policy

This page explains how we distinguish entertainment from factual pet information and how we work to keep PawViral useful, transparent and trustworthy.

1. Clear purpose for every page

Every PawViral page should have a clear reason to exist for readers. Pet-care pages should answer a real question or help readers understand an everyday pet topic. Quizzes should provide a genuine interactive experience. Stories should offer original entertainment. We avoid publishing unfinished placeholder pages or pages created only to target a keyword.

2. Sources for factual pet-care content

We prefer established animal-welfare organisations, veterinary organisations, recognised breed bodies, primary research and other reputable sources. Important factual claims should be traceable to the source links listed on the page where appropriate. We write summaries and explanations in our own words and aim to add useful context instead of reproducing source material.

3. Health and behaviour limitations

PawViral does not diagnose animals. General articles cannot take account of an individual pet’s age, medical history, environment or behaviour. Urgent symptoms, sudden changes, pain, breathing problems, suspected poisoning, heatstroke, serious aggression or other safety concerns should be discussed promptly with an appropriate veterinary or behaviour professional.

4. AI-assisted and fictional content

Generative AI may assist with illustrations, fictional stories, entertainment videos and draft organisation. Realistic fictional material is labelled so readers are not misled about whether an event actually happened. For factual pet-care content, AI assistance does not replace source checking. We do not intentionally publish invented citations, fabricated experts or fake first-hand veterinary experience.

5. Originality and added value

We do not copy and republish articles from other websites. When we rely on external research or welfare guidance, we summarise it, connect it to the reader’s question, explain practical implications, and link to the original source. Similar pages are periodically reviewed for consolidation or expansion so the site does not become a collection of near-duplicate articles.

6. Reviews, dates and maintenance

Pages may display a publication or review date where useful. We revisit older factual pages when source guidance changes, when readers flag an issue, or when a page needs clearer context. Broken links, missing media and unfinished sections should be repaired or removed.

7. Corrections

Readers can report errors through the PawViral contact form. Please include the page URL and, where possible, the evidence supporting the correction. Material factual corrections are prioritised over stylistic edits.

8. Advertising and commercial content

Advertising, if enabled, is separate from editorial decision-making. Ad placement should not obscure navigation, imitate site controls or overwhelm the main content. Any future sponsored content should be clearly labelled.

9. Who writes PawViral

Content is published under the PawViral Editorial Team. We do not claim veterinary credentials we do not hold. When professional review is required for a topic, that review should be explicitly identified rather than implied.
